Despite his struggles during a closing round of 4-over 76 Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Open, our guy Charley Hoffman no doubt found a few reasons to smile at the end of the day.
- He finished on a positive note, two
-putting for birdie on No. 18—the fourth consecutive day he broke par on the final hole of his round.
- He made the cut and played on the weekend for the first time since the Tournament of Champions.
- He played in his hometown of San Diego, which meant a little more quality time with the family before heading out to the next PGA TOUR stop, the Waste Management Open in Phoenix.
Ah yes, Phoenix. Home of the rowdiest hole in golf, the par-3 16th at the TPC Scottsdale. The fans there love Charley Hoffman — dude will be right in his element. There’s no better place to start swingin’ a hot stick, pal. The event’s hosted by Waste Management, one of Charley’s biggest sponsors. Flash is in that family, too, so of course we’ll be there too.
Hmm. How’d Waste Management get this gig? Flash Global Open has a nice ring to it. Must look into that.
